Racing Code Sails
For sailors chasing every fraction of extra performance, Sanders Code Sails unlock speed and versatility across the full range of reaching angles. Designed as a powerful link between headsails and spinnakers, these sails deliver exceptional drive when the wind is forward of abeam yet too light for conventional downwind sails. Each Code sail is individually developed for its yacht and sailing style – whether that’s maximising your VMG in offshore passages, finding the sweet spot between headsail and kite on those coastal races, or extending your effective sail inventory with a lightweight, high-performance reaching option. Built with advanced design tools, premium materials, and expert finishing, our Code sails provide the stability, shape-holding, and ease of handling you need to push hard and trim with confidence. Sanders Code sails are available in both cable and cable-less configurations, with a full range of furling systems to suit your boat.
Code 0 (50-55 degree AWA)
Our most versatile reaching sail, the Code 0 is designed for power in light to moderate winds where a non-overlapping jib would struggle. With its flat aerodynamic shape and larger area than a headsail, the Code 0 excels from close reaching through to tight reaching angles, giving a crucial edge in mixed wind conditions. A must-have for offshore and inshore racers alike, where we construct this sail to comply to the IRC regulations.
Wind range & angles: light–medium air, close to tight reaching
Best for: offshore racers, versatile all-round use, IRC compliant

Code 65 (45-50 degree AWA)
A step down in area and depth from the Code 0, the Code 65 flying headsail offers improved performance when the breeze increases or angles open up. Its balance of power and control makes it a reliable reaching sail for sustained offshore legs or variable coastal conditions, helping you maintain consistent boat speed without overpowering.
Wind range & angles: moderate winds, mid-range reaching angles
Best for: consistent speed in stronger conditions
Code 55 (35-40 degree AWA)
Wind range & angles: light–moderate winds, 35–40° AWA, beam to broad reaching
Best for: multihulls on extended coastal and offshore reaching legs, apparent wind sailing
