Name: Libby Dyke
Position: Sailmaker
How did you get into your role: I’ve always had a strong passion for the sea and watersports. Originally from Hythe, I learned to windsurf at Calshot from a young age, developed my sailing skills at university, and have recently taken up kitesurfing. Spending time on boats with my dad gave me a lifelong love of being on the water and a real appreciation for the marine environment.
I started sewing at a young age and later studied Fashion Design in Plymouth, where I specialised in waterproof outdoor clothing. While at university, I worked for a sail loft, where I learned a range of sailmaking and repair skills. During this time, I also had the opportunity to race on a variety of boats and spent many weekends surfing.
I’m excited to continue developing my sailmaking skills and experience at Sanders, while gaining more sailing experience in an area I’ve always considered home.
