Downwind & Reaching Furling Systems

Furlers turn powerful free-flying sails into genuinely shorthanded tools. We’ll help you choose between bottom-up vs top-down furling, cable vs cableless luffs, and size the system to your sail loads (area, luff tension, righting moment). How do they differ?
• Bottom-up: best for straight-luff Code sails (e.g. Code 0 / Code S).
• Top-down: best for fuller asymmetrics and cruising chutes.
• Torsional stay (anti-twist cable/rope): transmits twist from drum to head so the sail furls evenly.
• Cableless options: lighter, pack smaller; rely on structured luff design – great with the right sail engineering.

UBI Maior (FR series)

  • We supply and size: FR100, FR125, FR150, FR200.
  • Each model is offered in variants for top-down or bottom-up use; accessories include torsion lines, soft shackles, and swivels.

        Sanders One Design Sails

        We specify, supply and fit furling reinforcements, clew hardware, torsion-stay terminations, and sail reinforcements in-house.

        For bowsprits, forestay terminations or deck strong-points, we’ll coordinate with your preferred rigger. Should you require assistance with obtaining a rigger, please contact us and we will be happy to recommend one local to you.
